CNC Programmer / Operator

Full-Time • Fishersville, VA • Four 10-Hour Days

About Objective Industries

Objective Industries has been a cornerstone of precision manufacturing in the Shenandoah Valley since 1967. As a female-owned, ISO 9001-certified machine tooling company based in Fishersville, VA, we bring over 55 years of craftsmanship and continuous investment in cutting-edge technology — including EDM, CNC milling, and advanced quality control. We’re a tight-knit team that takes pride in our work and in the people who do it.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator to join our shop floor and help us continue producing the tight-tolerance work our customers rely on. This is a true end-to-end role — you’ll program, set up, and run both mills and lathes, and you’ll own the quality of your parts from first chip to final inspection. If you enjoy the full machining process and take pride in holding tight tolerances on challenging work, this is the kind of shop where that craftsmanship is genuinely appreciated.

What We Offer

  • Full-time schedule — four 10-hour days, giving you a three-day weekend every week
  • Competitive pay based on your experience and skill level starting range is $20-$25/per hour
  • Comprehensive benefits package – health, dental, life, and short- and long-term disability insurance
  • 401k available with company match up to 4%
  • A stable, long-established company with a strong reputation in the Valley
  • Well-equipped shop with modern CNC mills, CNC lathes, EDM, and quality control instrumentation
  • Varied, challenging work — no two jobs are the same
  • A small, collaborative team where your skills are visible and valued

What You’ll Do

Your primary responsibilities will span programming, setup, machining, and inspection:

Programming & Setup

  • Write and edit CNC programs for mills and lathes from blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Set up machines — load tools, establish offsets, and dial in workholding
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for the material and tolerances involved
  • Troubleshoot programs and setups to improve cycle times and part quality

Machining & Inspection

  • Run CNC mills and lathes to produce tight-tolerance precision parts
  • Inspect your own work using precision measuring instruments — micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges
  • Read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T callouts
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned machines
  • Work closely with our Quality department to ensure parts meet spec

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and in-process inspection
  • Comfort holding tight tolerances on varied, often small-run work
  • Self-motivated and able to manage your own workflow across multiple jobs
  • A team-oriented, professional approach — you’ll work closely with inspectors, engineers, and fellow machinists
  • Testing will be administered as part of the interview process
  • Pre-employment drug screening required

Compensation

Pay based on experience, starting range is $20-$25/per hour.
401k available with company match up to 4%.
